It is a two part piece that have been hand built and have been hand painted with intricate patterns inspired by fabrics. The surface of these butter dishes is very matt which makes it less slippery. Each piece is unique and one of a kind.

The inside of the butter crocks are glazed with a glossy glaze for easy clean. These crocks also have an indent in the top to hold your butter knife. Bamboo butter knife included in purchase.
The way they work is that you soften a 4oz butter stick first by just leaving it outside. Pack the butter into the top reservoir. Then add ½ inch of water to the big container and flip the butter top over. The butter stays soft and doesn’t go rancid for up to 30 days. It is recommended to change the water often.

Though these are dishwasher safe, hand washing these is recommended to avoid scratches on the matt exterior.
