What you will learn?

Die design (how to plan your own dies to create work that is unique to you with materials that work best for dies)

Prepping the clay for extrusion

Installing extruder dies, loading the extruder, and a special setup to make it ergonomically easier to extrude

How to use the extruder for hollow forms and alter them

How to add wheel thrown aspects to your extruded work

How I decorate my surfaces with slip and how I make my own slip decorating tool.

Extrusions are great starting points for hand-building.

You can alter them to make vases, mugs, teapots, sculptural pieces.

Even if you don’t have an extruder, you can apply techniques learnt in this workshop for hand-building and surface design.
